Rihanna wears a metallic corset during her latest concert. Hunny B (BKA Sasha Fierce) wears Thierry Mugler designed ensemble. Even, Oprah Winfrey and Queen Latifah started talking about wearing Spanx shapers.
Now, I am proud to say that I don’t leave my house without some sort of shapewear, but mainly I wear Sculptz because of its everyday comfort and fun colors. I like to look good in what ever I’m wearing and hate having buldges and visible panty lines (OMG!) Lingerie as outerwear is also the big trend these days. When I really want to look sexy, I pair a corset with demin and a blazer. (That look never goes out of style!)
Annual retail sales of shapewear — undergarments that control and smooth figure problems — grew 10.6 percent to $848.3 million from March 2009 to February 2010, and unit sales increased 3.8 percent during that period, according to The NPD Group research consultancy.
According to Karyn Monget at Women’s Wear Daily, “Women are now building shapewear wardrobes of basic and specialty pieces like control camis, waist cinchers and all-in-one body shapers, much in the same manner as they’ve made bras, tank tops and undies wardrobe staples.”
Ladies, it’s time to look fabulous under your clothing.
Shapewear has become an every day item because of the celebrity factor. And, I cosign.
