Trendy Nail Therapy: CHI Secret Fantasy Collection

April 22, 2010
By

Ladies, we know that it is always important to take regular care of hands and feet. That’s why I was super excited to try the Spring 2010 CHI Secret Fantasy Collection. The chip-resistant lacquers contain CHI 44 ceramic to provide long–lasting wear and durability, silk for high-gloss shine, nano silver to eliminate many different types of bacteria and UV protection to guard against color fading to keep color fresh.  I dragged my bestie, Janet, to the salon for some manicures and relaxation. But, before going to the salon, I read all the positive, glowing online reviews and couldn’t wait to see if the nail polish lived up to the ‘no chip’ claim.

Here are pictures of our nails on day one:

I know matte nail polish is really in for the fashionista’s out there, but I still love a sparkle and shine. The chi nail polish was the right jolt of color and ray of shine.

I didn’t pair the nail color with a base and top coat from the line. But, I didn’t think I had too, since the Chi 44 ceramic  was the modern day kryptonite for nails.  However, I didn’t think the color would last a week, since no nail polish has ever stayed fresh on my nails that long.

Here are pictures of the nails on day five:

Considering that most nail polish chips after five days, I will give the CHI Secret Fantasy collection a fair review and let the pictures tell the story. I would try the nail polish again because the colors are so yummy, but I am not impressed with the ceramic formula that boosts the no chip claim.

Could I link up to this, from my web page? I’m trying to round up as many bits of information as I can.

The colors are very pretty but I feel you… with the formula that CHI is boasting about your nails should not have looked like that after only five days.

I always use a base and top coat no matter what the formulation claims (with the exception of mattes) I currently use Seche Vite Crystal Clear Base Coat and Dry Fast Top Coat. My nails always look as if they were professionally done and lasts an entire week with minimal tip wear. Check out the Seche Line if you haven’t.
