The Black Community lost our version of Elvis Presley a little over a year ago. I can remember when Michael Jackson’s videos aired on prime-time network television. I have great memories of the King of Pop that extends well beyond, “The Girl is Mine,” “Beat It,” “Bad” and “Billie Jean.” I could go on and on naming my favorite MJ songs.
I wanted this post of be about Michael and his daring fashion choices that became iconic in the industry. Not only did MJ freak the music, he was a freak to F-A-S-H-I-O-N. Any one of my friends can tell you that I pull out my red, leather bomber jacket and stomp to the rhythm of the beat.
Here are some of MJ’s styles and influence that rocked the 1980′s and will inspire fashion for years to come.
