Argan Oil: Another Beauty Secret

October 26, 2010
By

I was reading Essence online today and I saw they published a post on Argan Oil.

I am noticing that many brands are creating products with Argan Oil in it. Check out the post I did a few weeks ago on Argan Oil and Crème of Nature by clicking here

Since Argan Oil is becoming more and more popular in the mainstream, I wanted to let my readers know the benefits of the all-natural, 100% organic, chemical-free remedy. According to Josie Maran, the company that makes an assortment of products with Argan Oil, the oil is produced from the Argan tree in semi-deserts of Morocco and has been used by Moroccan women for centuries for it’s nutritional and cosmetic benefits.

Commonly referred to as “liquid gold” or “The Gold of Morocco”, Argan Oil is an incredibly rich source of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It has astonishing healing, conditioning and anti-aging properties to keep your skin and hair nourished and revitalized and to keep you looking beautiful from head to toe. Argan Oil is not only a “super food” for the skin and hair but for the whole body. Having twice as much Vitamin E as olive oil including vital antioxidants, Argan Oil plays a major role in a healthy diet and is commonly used in traditional Moroccan recipes.

This stuff is great for your hair and all you need is a small amount. I put just a pea sized amount in the palm of my hand and rubbed it through my wet wrap before I combed it out last night and my hair is bouncy, shiny and healthy looking. Love it!

I’ve also used an argan oil product and love the lightweight feel. Like Mz. More said, you really only need a little bit. My shoulder length locs get super shiny from 1 or 2 nickel sized amounts of argan!

The thing is, there’s also a downside to this great oil that recently came to my attention from another beauty blogger: argan trees are getting rarer and rarer. It’s a complex issue because much of the argan used for natural cosmetics is actually fair-trade and produced by women-led cooperatives.

I have not tried it yet. So frustrated with my hair. it seems to be thinning at the crown.

Thank you for the comments ladies. Tried rogaine for women, but it gave me a headache
