I — like many of my chic friends — am about to take the leap from my roaring 20′s and enter into my 30′s –a decade filled with jazz and swing.
Instead of being sad about saying goodbye to my fun-loving twenties filled with memories of my travels to London, Barcelona, Venice, Amsterdam and even Hong Kong; break-ups and make-ups; and lifelong lessons, I am embracing it. In order to be fabulous beyond my twenties, I know I must take precautionary measures to maintain my beauty. So, you will hear me talking about a lot of chemical peels to erase the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Vaseline for healthy skin and night creams. The editors at Essence magazine actually recommend the Solution by Envision Beauty. It combines your day cream, night cream, eye cream, makeup primer, and anti-aging cream into one fabulous product-packed with goji berry, grape seed, and essential vitamins. I am heading out this weekend to pick up this dose of magic in a bottle.

So, we have the face covered, but the beautiful me in my new found 30′s will start being remarkable from inside and out. I’m going to try and live a balanced and beautiful lifestyle, starting with a low-sodium (but flavorful) diet. Americans consume 2-3 times the recommended amount of salt per day. I probably had my suggested daily amount in one sitting as I was snacking on my roasted, salted cashews. A good substitute of salt, but burst of flavor is Mrs. Dash Seasoning Blends – by eliminating salt, I may even shed a few pounds. The seasonings are an all-natural blend of 14 natural herbs and spices that add a unique flavor to every dish, so you won’t ever miss the salt. The line also has 6 salt-free marinades including Spicy Teriyaki and Southwestern Chipotle. With all that flavor, who needs salt?

And finally, since I’m obsessed with losing ten pounds, here’s one of Oprah’s Favorite Things: My Custom Yoga Mat is a personalized custom yoga mat available in every font, shape and color. I love it — a mat with a unique personality, just like me!
How are you celebrating and embracing a new phase in your life?
