Best Hot Rollers: Remington Ceramic Heated Curlers

April 5, 2011
By

The March issue of Essence magazine featured its first beauty awards. The Remington T-Studio Pearl Ceramic Heated Clip Setters (SRP: $44.99) were awarded “Best Hot Rollers,” by the Essence editorial staff and beauty industry experts. Of course, I had to review these rollers myself and find out if they really were a great investment – especially for Black hair.

The easy-to-use rollers had velvet on them, which was a great feature to prevent hair breakage.  Once plugged in, it only took 90 seconds to heat the rollers up. And, you can curl your whole head  in five minutes — bringing a new meaning to set it and forget it. And, get this, unlike most rollers with a clip that doesn’t grip, the clips on these babies hold for a secure fit. It only took about ten minutes to get the rollers in my hair.

The result – bouncy and shiny curls. Thanks, Essence, for introducing me to this product. The only thing I don’t like is the bulkiness of the product. So if I’m going on vacation, I’ll have to opt for my curling iron. (But, hey, Remington also carries the Professional Styling Wand (SRP: $24.99) that works wonders as it creates tight and loose curls.)

Go to Target and Ulta stores and try it for yourself.
