Clairol Professional Color Review and GIVEAWAY

*THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO WINNERS BREANNE, COLLEEN AND ANGELA*

I recently had the pleasure of trying the newly reformulated Beautiful Collection Semi-Permanent Color by Clairol Professional at the swanky upper east side Valery Joseph Salon. (Ladies, let me tell you, I was very nervous walking in the salon. I have natural hair and I didn’t know the end result would look like. You know, everyone don’t have the skills and technique to style Black hair. If all fails, I can always throw my kinky locks up in a pony tail, smile and walk out.)

I met with Clairol Professional trained colorist Gigi David, who did a quick consultation to establish the type of process that I wanted. I decided to go with a combination of two colors in the Beautiful Collection Semi-Permanent Color in B09W (Light Reddish Brown) and B175W (Wine Brown).

The application process is one easy step and can be done at home. (yay!)

Gigi applied the colors to my entire head and let it sit for 35 minutes.

Gigi’s assistant Mary rinsed out the colors and then applied a glaze for 5-7 minutes (this step can be omitted, though, which is good, since I never had a glaze applied to my hair after a color), and then the final rinse.

Once the color process was completed, I met with stylist Eddie who I must say knows how to work a blow-dryer. (He was like a blow-dry guardian angle who heard my prayers.)

I was pleasantly satisfied with the end product. Thanks to Eddie and Gigi my hair was super straight and my color is beautiful and shiny

Clairol Professional has a new formula and a new celebrity hairstylist; Kiyah Wright. Kiyah is a two-time, Emmy Award-winning celebrity hairstylist, who was given her big break from Sean “Diddy” Combs. She has been featured on hit television shows such as America’s Next Top Model, America’s Got Talent and BET’s My Black Is Beautiful. Clairol Professional feels that “Kiyah’s diverse clientele reflects her impeccable ability to reveal and effectively translate a woman’s beauty, inside and out.”
