Janet stopped by my pad last Saturday and the first thing I noticed was her terrific manicure. Baby, this manicure presented all the right sparkle and, ooh, all the right shine. It’s genius, just like its name. The plumish hue perfectly match her skin tone and nicely trimmed nails. So, of course, I had to feature it in my Monday Manicure series.

Here is It's Genius with a flash. The polish is a violet quartz shimmer with beige undertones. It's more in the plum category.

There I am taking pictures with my camera phone, again. Sorry, y’all.

Here is the actual It's Genius nail polish by essie. Janet also added her own personal touch by using a pink glitter top coat called A Cut Above. The middle pink color is called A Cut Above

I have always been addicted to nail polish. I got in trouble in elementary school by Mr. Robinson, my six grade teacher, for wearing polish. He actually bought a bottle of nail polish remover and took off my colors in the classroom. arrrrhhh. We eventually came to a compromise by letting me wear a clear sparkle. In the ’80′s sparkle was all the rage due to the Punky Brewster, My Little Pony and Gem era– somewhat like it is today.
I always made fun of Janet because she never chose the right colors for her nails. She always asked my opinion and I would just laugh when she choose an oh-so-wrong shade for a brown girl. So, this Manicure Monday, I give Janet 21 guns salute for being able to eye a fab color. LOL
