My friend, Natifia, decided to pamper herself to an at-home manicure and she did an excellent job! Nail polish color should do two things: flatter your skin tone and look appropriate for the occasion. Natifia chose the perfect spring/summer hue called Gemma by Zoya.
Gemma is from the Zoya Intimate spring 2011 collection. The base of Gemma is a gorgeous, muted, greyed out green. It’s very subtle for a green — it’s almost like a sage or military green.
Natifia’s polish techique is good. I see that the color is added in even strokes, which can be difficult when using light colors. Ladies, for your at-home manicure, spend time filing in either a square or rounded shape — follow the natural shape of your nails. Also, make sure your nails are of equal length. When looking at the bottle, you see a subtle purple shimmer, but it’s not as transparent on nails.

I hate when that happens. You see the bottle and the polish looks one way but on your nails it looks another. I feel like that’s kind of false advertising right
