Janet and I went to a very nice bridal shower a few weeks ago for one of her colleagues. During one of the ‘how well do you know the bride and groom’ games, the ‘Who said ”I love you” first?’ question was asked. I didn’t know the bride or groom, but my initial thought and instinct was, “the Groom.” I just know that women usually wait for the men to verbally say, “I love you” before uttering those powerful three words.

And the dating study shows, women may express emotions more than men, but that doesn’t mean they’re quick to saying “I Love You.” WhatsYourPrice.com surveyed 80,000 members and found that 76 percent of all serious relationships began with the man saying, “I love you.” 73 percent of members also stated that men say “I love you” more often. While the survey shows that men tend to embrace this relationship milestone first, they do so privately. Approximately 81 percent of men prefer to say “I love you” in the bedroom, whereas 67 percent of women prefer to say “I love you” over the phone.
