Hi Beauties,
Living Social recently offered a NYC deal of a private 90-minute makeup lesson/consultation at DEX New York Cosmetics located on 65th Street between Madison and Park Avenues.
Josh, the makeup artist extraordinaire transformed my plain jane looks to a Broadway Show diva look alike.
Dex mineral makeup has long term, anti aging results with and instantly radiant and fresh, photo-ready finish that is easy to blend.
Makeup Tip: After your foundation has set, if you apply translucent powder under your eyes, it will prevent your eyeshadow from sprinkling all over your face.
After the eyeshadow is on your lids, it’s ok to brush the transulent powder off your face.
I shy away from eye shadow, but I loved this pigmented Harlem Nights and Riverside hues from Dex New York Cosmetics
Makeup tip: if you damp your sponge before applying foundation, it will prevent your foundation from seeping in.
The blush is called SoHo, it’s similar to what I used at home from MAC Cosmetics. I am a softie for a pink lip on brown skin. I actually am wearing my staple Rouge Allure 65 Insolente lipstick from Chanel and Date Night lipgloss from MAC. That’s when Josh told me that people rarely stray from what they like. They don’t want something different, they just want a different shade of the same. So, I asked him to remove the pink lipstick and give me a lushious red that’s oh so sexy. Here’s what Josh pulled out of his bag of tricks:
This red is called Ruby and I liked it so much I added it to my collection.
What do you think?
The red makes my teeth look so white. When I’m at home, I won’t wear it with the eyeshadow, though.
I bought the red lipstick and the eye shadow. I’m still getting used to the lipstick and I NEVER wear shadows anymore, so it’ll be nice to try something different for a chance. I love the flawless look.
