Showing up to an event wearing an outfit the same color as your rival’s is everyone’s sartorial nightmare. But that’s exactly what happened to Ann Romney and Michelle Obama last night, both of whom wore pink, reportedly because of Breast Cancer Awareness month. (Or maybe because they both like pink. Definitely one of those two.)
However, what no one can agree on is exactly what shade of pink the ladies were wearing.
Today.com used “hot pink” and “fuschia” interchangeably, while Hello magazineused “fuschia” in the headline and “hot pink” in the story. The Hollywood Reporter stuck with “hot pink.”
The Huffington Post, meanwhile, went with “Schiap pink,” perhaps a nod to the upcoming relaunch of the brand.
As for the Washington Post, they referred to the color as “bright pink.” According to the Daily Beast, though, both women were sporting “bubblegum pink.” Meanwhile, Styleite opted for the evocative “shocking pink.”
The last one goes to InStyle, who clearly wanted to cover all their bases with “hot fuschia pink.”
Looks like in fashion nomenclature, as with politics, we’re all going to have to agree to disagree.
