Did you know?

  • Nearly 1,200 women under the age of 40 died due to breast cancer in 2011. Although that number can be daunting, there are currently more than 2 million women in the US with a history of breast cancer still living.
  • Cervical cancer claims the lives of nearly 14,000 women each year.
  • Ovarian cancer claims the lives of more than 15,000 women this year.

I couldn’t let October pass us by without posting about the beauty and fashion products that will contribute to fund research that will cure breast cancer. Breast cancer affects everyone — whether you are a survivor, encourager, support system, newly diagnosed or a hand holder. It’s time to join the battle against breast cancer.

CouponNetwork.com announced, a month long event to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Program. They are donating a penny for each coupon printed in the month of October and will donate up to $25,000.

The Recovery Brobe is a luxurious robe with an attached bra, designed for women who have undergone a mastectomy or have had breast reconstructive surgery.  The award winning robe has pockets inside to hold post-op drains, and pockets are also built in the bra to hold ice packs during the healing process.  This lightweight, soft loungewear has ¾ sleeves and hits just about the knee in length.  10% of sales are donated to breast cancer research.

In October, 100% of sales from every pink manicure service at the Angelo David Salon (located near Grand Central Station in New York City) will be donated to BREASTCANCER.ORG. Additionally, 10% of the sales from the Angelo David Brush Collection will also be donated to this nonprofit organization. Kinerase will donate 20% of proceeds from the NEW Advanced Lotion and Advanced Cream to the American Breast Cancer Foundation

Murad has once again partnered with City of Hope to help raise awareness for breast and women’s cancers research, treatment and education programs. The company is donating 10% of each sale of the limited-edition Hydrate for Hope set to the City of Hope’s women’s cancer programs. The set  includes Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture and Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes. These uber-rich moisturizers feature a luxurious blend of super-hydrating ingredients that quench skin and restore youthful resiliency.

Also in October, 100% of proceeds from the sales of Streekers in Pink and TouchBack BrowMarker in Blonde will be donated to the NBCC to help fund research supporting their goal of ending breast cancer by January 1, 2020.

Q Parker shows his support for wellness among women by releasing a new track titled “I’ll Wear Pink For You”. The song was written by Grammy Award-Winning songwriters, Q Parker and Crystal Nicole (Beyoncé, Rihanna) and produced by Marcus “Daheatmizer” Devine for DaFurnace Music Group, “I’ll Wear Pink For You” has inspired a Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign by the same name. This initiative encourages men to wear an item in a hue of pink to symbolize support for women who have battled breast cancer, as well as to encourage women of all ages to do self-exams and get mammograms if they are in the medically recommended age-range.  A portion of the proceeds from Q’s upcoming 2013 fitness calendar will be donated to support breast cancer and prostate cancer research.
