Rashidah Ferguson has a strong interest in beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands. She started this blog as an avenue to merge mass-consumer companies with ethnic women who want to look and feel their best.

When she is not researching material for her blog, you can find Rashidah on the phone with top national and local editors, producers and journalists as a media relations specialist.

Rashidah received her Bachelors and Master’s degree in Communications Studies, specializing in public relations, from The College of New Rochelle. She resides in New York City.

Jadie Aponte loves the vintage lifestyle. She also enjoys artistic new and old fashions. Asked by Rashidah to join the BeyondBlackBeauty.com experience as a writer,  she jumped on the opportunity. Who wouldn’t want to try out new and exciting products and services while reporting back on the hits and misses.

When Jadie is not sampling new products and writing fun reviews, she is spending her time managing an office at a midtown financial software company and enjoying her one year son.

Réal Hamilton-Romeo loves shoes, bags and boys; a quintessential girly-girl. She enjoys all things beauty, fashion and lifestyle – essentially anything that makes her feel pretty and pampered. Her travels to Europe, Africa and Asia have influenced her worldly style.

 When she is not getting glam, you can find Réal developing internal communications strategies for a major airline and teaching college students about the PR profession.

Janet Lawrence has always been head over heels with all things fashion. So when adversity hit, Janet decided it was a sign to turn her infatuation into a career by enrolling in the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Fashion Styling program.

Between F.I.T, working to pay the bills and sampling products for Beyondblackbeauty.com; Janet has had the honor and privilege of working backstage at  New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week shows including Calvin Kline, Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta, and Bally. She has also had the honor of working and learning alongside other talented stylists.

Sharise N. Finley has spent the last seven years in the retail industry where she has developed a love for all things eCommerce, bridal and weddings.

She is currently the Editor of The Budget Brides Handbook where she gives advice to brides who are looking to plan the wedding of their dreams in their budget.  In her quest of making every event fabulous, she created Sharise Finley Events -a boutique event planning agency. She is excited to bring her love of fashion and relationships to the readers of Beyond Black Beauty.

Sharise has a BS in Marketing from Penn State University. She has lent her expertise to some of the top companies in the retail industry such as Lord & Taylor, Fortunoff, Intermix, David’s Bridal and La Prairie.
